Description: Legal analytics continues to evolve at a rapid pace. Information professionals are on the forefront as early adopters who evaluate, introduce and train others on analytic tools. Join us for an engaging and insightful session that includes the current state of legal analytics, per a recent analytics study by ALM and LexisNexis, the principles underlying legal analytics software, followed by a glimpse in to the future. What’s behind the legal analytics “black box”, how analytics will evolve and continue to shape how we search and gather insights to make informed decisions? What does the analytics road map look like in the legal industry and what can you expect from LexisNexis? These questions and more will be answered.

Presenter: Kerry Kassam, Product Manager, LexisNexis

Bio: Kerry Kassam, J.D., is an experienced attorney and product manager at LexisNexis, where he specializes in applying machine learning, natural language processing and AI technologies to solve legal problems. As part of Ravel Law’s business unit before the LexisNexis acquisition, Kerry drafted and negotiated licensing agreements and sales contracts with Ravel’s customers and strategic partners and managed the institutional sales unit. Prior to joining LexisNexis and Ravel, he represented growth businesses in both litigation and transactions in technology, commerce, and corporate governance. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego and a J.D. from University of California, Davis and is an active member of the California state bar and pro-bono counsel to nonprofits and low-income litigants.
