Artificial intelligence has become a popular buzzword across all industries because it can help us do things faster and cheaper. In the legal space, that means classifying and organizing voluminous amounts of data, such as court opinions, dockets, and EDGAR filings. As Commercial Director for Litigation and Bankruptcy at Bloomberg Law, Darby Green spearheaded the creation and launch of AI-infused tools, including Bloomberg Law’s Litigation Analytics, a tool that enables users to search millions of legal data points by company, law firm, or judge; and Points of Law, a solution that applies machine learning to court opinions in order to highlight language critical to a court’s holding and link this language to governing statements of law and relevant on-point case law. Darby has been working at Bloomberg Law since 2009, prior to which she practiced as a commercial litigator in New York. She has an A.B. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.
